Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse

Live music, fun atmosphere and excellent food. I have lived in Louisville for a long time, and I have been disappointed in many restaurants in the city that look appealing but can't deliver on food. Jeff Ruby's is a new favorite. I had perfect salmon with mashed potatoes and some awesome macaroni and cheese. The sourdough bread is from a Cincinnati bakery and I couldn't stop eating it! Service was top-notch, some of the best service I've ever had at a restaurant. I definitely recommend Jeff Ruby's to visitors and to Louisville natives who, like me, never happened to try it.

I regularly arrive getting some food in this place. I enjoyed the fast customer service and well prepared food. Fantastic work.

Originally when my boyfriend and I came here, we left disappointed. The manager reached out to us and invited us back to redo the night we had here and it was perfect. Food was amazing and the service was amazing. We appreciate you all and thanks again !

Jeff Ruby's is the best steakhouse in Louisville. It is a great place for large groups or a romantic date. The service at Jeff Ruby's is impeccable and its food is second-to-none. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The cowboy ribeye is the best steak you will ever eat, and the shrimp is a great appetizer. It's impossible to have a bad experience here.

Best steak I've had all year! I ordered the New York Strip with garlic butter and it was cooked absolutely perfect. It was well worth the splurge!

Best food. The Ruby Roll and lobster macaroni and cheese were stars of the night, though of course the steak was delicious. Wait staff were beyond professional. Be prepared to drop $300 for two people.

Went for a birthday celebration. The food was awesome! I had the largest sea bass and carrot cake I've ever seen. We had reservations and arrived early, but the were able to quickly seat us. Zack and Hannah were are server team and they did an amazing job making sure it was a night to remember.

Never been before it was very busy but the service was great and food was cooked perfectly. We sat at the bar and the bartenders are the best rocking out drinks and also able to give us great service. From out of town and looking forward to going back!

Had Adrienne as our waitress and she went above and beyond to make our anniversary dinner special! She made recommendations and they didn't disappoint. Had the Godfather sushi, petite surf and turf with the chili seasoning and the Mac and cheese. She brought out a dessert sampler to celebrate. When she found out we were expecting she even brought us a Jeff Ruby onsie and bib! She is a one of a kind person. Will be back and request her!

It is the best steakhouse in Louisville. I have been to the others but Jeff Ruby's has delivered every time I've been there. Food is phenomenal, service is great and knowledgeable, and the drinks/wine list gives you plenty of options.

Jeff Ruby’s is on top of there game. The staff is very professional. The food always hits the mark! You much try the truffle cream corn when it’s in season! There sides are so awesome I could make a meal on just the mash potatoes and mac and cheese. The atmosphere was really nice! We were celebrating our anniversary, so they gave us a free piece of cheesecake. It was delicious, as was everything else. Probably one of the best steaks I've ever eaten.

I had an incredible experience here. Their filet mignon is easily one of the best steaks I’ve ever eaten. Sushi is the best. Live pianist playing the background. If you’re looking for a great experience in Louisville, this is for you!

GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND! Tony and Matthew rescued me for Mother's Day as I live in Atlanta and my mother is in an assisted care home (under strict quarantine) in Louisville. They coordinated the details with the facility and hand-delivered an awesome steak dinner for her meal on Mother's Day. It meant SO much to her, especially being isolated and unable to see family. Thanks Jeff Ruby's, Tony and Matthew. You will forever have my loyalty and be on the top of my restaurant list every time I am in Louisville. All I can say is stellar! Thank you again!

Yeah the steak was really good, but the seafood tower was out of control. I was surprised at how good and fresh the seafood was. They have some type of horseradish cocktail sauce that was insane. And the old fashioned they made me was one of the best I’ve ever had. The waiting staff was excellent and knew exactly how much to come by the table while also allowing us to keep our conversation going and not interrupt us too much.

Absolutely amazing. Nick was our server and he was perfect. Thank you! He knew it was an anniversary dinner and made it extra special. Our food was fantastic and this is one of the places that has refined the small details. I will be back!

I had originally posted about the experience I had at JR, giving it 3 stars. After receiving a call from management this morning, apologizing for the experience I had (dining experience, no issues with the food) we will definitely be back. The food was delicious as always and the staff was great!

Jeff Ruby is by far the Best restaurant in Louisville the Crabcakes the scallops the Brussels sprouts the bread the butter I could go on and on I dine in and I do curbside when it’s crowded I’m never disappointed Thanks Jeff Ruby

Best steaks and seafood in KY... its worth the money if you want Vegas level food in KY.

We always have an amazing time when eating here. Great Entertainment and incredible food. The Robbie Bartlet Band always gets the crowd going. Its probably the best restaurant in the city. And it's not even close. The 65 day age bone in strip steak will change your life. So just go. And thank me later.

Very good quality of the service, friendly, helpful and polite staff. the steak and lobster are delicious and they have a big size even we got two plates of lobster because the chef realized that the lobster tails were a bit small. there are many options. We went for celebrating anniversary and we got a delicious cake as a gift.

What can you say? One of the best dining experiences in town with prices to match. Great steaks. The raw bar is ridiculously priced, so beware.

Our first time here and it was a great experience. The sushi (first time as well) was unbelievably good! The meal was better than I imagined! The music was an extra bonus! We hope to be back!

I can not rave enough about this place! AMAZING food, top notch service! My waiter Collin noticed I didn't like one of my sushi rolls, he and his manger took care of it and comped me a drink. Great place for a date, or get together. Loved my experience!

Fantastic as usually. Fillet is so tender and juicy. Mashed potatoes were well whipped and buttery. Server was very good and kept our glasses full.

This place is amazing. My steak was a bit overcooked and they went above and beyond to make it right. I'd give customer service a 1,000,000 out of 5 and the food was excellent! Highly recommend.

Eating each piece of steak felt like candy. WOW. The oysters were divine. Perfect martini. I honestly can’t imagine a better meal. Service was impeccable. Gorgeous and expensive dinner worth every penny.

Normally I really enjoy my food here, I usually get steak but I didn't want to get full so I tried the burger. It was horrible. The meat was good, had too much cheese, 1 slice of bacon, and the worst iceberg lettuce ever. The tomatoes were sliced way too thick and just unimpressive. The atmosphere is always nice and the manager Tony took the burger off my bill. So that's why I'm giving them 3 stars.

Hands down one of the best steakhouse in the U.S. Steaks are well seasoned and very well aged. Sides are tasty and you can request different sides to be made like Lobster Mac n Cheese. Seating, lighting and decor is pretty nice and the musicians are pretty darn good. Wine and bourbon lists are vast and some are priced at great value. Lastly, the manager and waiters are Pros and their service is top notch but the receptionists can come across a tad snobbish.

The New York strip steak was pure perfection on a plate. This was one of the best seasoned, tender and well prepared cut of meat. No steak sauce or toppings were required. The mac-n-cheese was super creamy and golden browned crunch topping was a delicious addition to the meal. Now, let's chat about the brussel sprouts.....THE BEST! The bacon in the sprouts was absolutely divine. This was a delightful dining experience. I've heard the burger is fabulous and I plan to try it on my next visit.

My steak was probably the best I've ever had-- and from a menu with considerable options (and variety). The service, which for me begins when one enters a restaurant, was excellent, too. And it's a real treat to hear LIVE music, especially when it's so good. If there's a downfall here, it's one found elsewhere, too: 21st century restaurant acoustics impede conversation at the table.

Andrei and Abdullah took amazing care of my husband and me. He had filet. I had filet and lobster. We shared mac n cheese and Brussels sprouts. We got a bottle of Casanova wine (they were out of the one we originally wanted, but we ended up really liking it). We have almost no complaints. The atmosphere, food, and service were amazing. My hubs feels like cake could have been better so maybe try a different dessert.You definitely need a reservation.Please like if you find this helpful. Thanks!

This is our favorite steakhouse. Reservations are a must. We came on a saturday at 5pm and received a nice booth. The staff was very fast and attentive to our needs. Wr ordered a cowboy steak and scallops. It was amazing. They brought us a nice dessert for our celebration. Its really expensive, but we spent two hours tasting amazing foods and hanging out.

Food is delicious! There are several menu options with a variety to choose from. Lovely ambiance and the customer service is excellent. We go several times a year and are never disappointed with our visit. Definitely recommend!

Came here with a group of coworkers for dinner. Everything we ordered was cooked perfectly and super tasty. I highly recommend the steak and I also recommend to try their macaroni & cheese. I think that was probably the best I've ever had so far. The margarita was very well made as well. I would love to try their sushi next time I'll be in town. Service was attentive and friendly.

Cowboy steak is one of the better steaks I've ever had, sushi was great and service was outstanding. I think Le Moo has better steak in my opinion though but only slightly. But they are less expensive by a bit and it's a little more laid back service. I suppose it depends on what you're looking for. Jeff ruby's also has a more diverse menu.

The entire experience was amazing! From the greeters, to the wait staff, to the entertainment, and to the atmosphere; top notch! Oh, and the food... perfectly prepared, presentation was spot on, and flavors and textures were amazing. I can't wait to come back!
